Lancers de-claw Badgers for fifth straight win

Box Score WINDSOR, Ont.- The Windsor Lancers men's hockey team continue to ride high early in the 2013-14 schedule, as they marched to a 4-1 victory over the Brock Badgers on Friday night at South Windsor Arena.

Four different goal-scorers helped Windsor improve to 5-1-0 on the season, while the Badgers dip under the .500 mark with the loss, garnering a 3-4-1 record.

Evan Stibbard picked up his second goal of the season to open the scoring in the first period, but Thomas Stajan evened the contest with a short-handed marker early in the middle frame. Julian Luciani and Ryan Crevatin responded with two goals less than five minutes apart to give the men some breathing room heading into the final 20 minutes. Jadran Beljo scored the only goal in a chippy, penalty-filled third period.

Windsor was 0-for-8 with the man advantage, and the Badgers went 0-for-4. Parker Van Buskirk made 21 saves to earn his fifth win of the campaign.

The Lancers will wrap up their weekend tomorrow evening at South Windsor Arena, where they will host the York Lions. Puck-drop is set for 7:30 p.m.
