Men's Hockey doubles up on Warriors

Box Score WINDSOR, Ont - The Lancer men's hockey team earned their second win of the weekend with a 4-2 win over the Waterloo Warriors on Breast Cancer Awareness Day at South Windsor Arena Saturday night.
 
With the win, the Lancers are now 13-8-0 on the season and in sole possession of fourth place in the OUA West division.
 
The Lancers opened up the scoring midway through the first with a shorthanded goal from Matt Beaudoin. However Waterloo was quick to follow with a goal of their own from senior Andy Smith to tie it up at one.
 
The Lancers closed out the first period with power play goal from Kenny Bradford with just four second remaining in the period to take a 2-1 lead heading into the first intermission.
 
Spencer Pommells scored the lone goal of the middle frame to put Windsor up by two, before Waterloo added another goal from Matt Amadio in the third to up the game's intensity.
 
In an attempt to even the score, Waterloo pulled their goalie with just over a minute left. Windsor, however, capitalized on the opportunity as MacAuley McDonnell scored his tenth of the year to secure the Lancer victory.
 
Lancer goaltender Parker Van Buskirk earned his twelfth win of the season in net for Windsor turning away 43 Warrior shots. Waterloo goaltender Justin Leclearc made 41 saves in net for the Warriors.  
 
Windsor will host a double header next weekend against the second place No. 9 Lakehead Thunderwolves. Both games are slated for 7:30pm on both Friday and Saturday night at South Windsor Arena.
