W-Soccer finishes regular season, will host playoff match-up

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Lancer women's soccer team closed out their regular season on the road against York and Guelph on the weekend and are now focused on hosting Round 1 of the OUA playoffs on Wednesday night.

The Lancers dropped a 3-0 decision to the York Lions on Saturday followed by a 3-1 loss to Guelph on Sunday.
 
Despite the finish, Windsor closes our the regular season with a 8-7-1 record and clinched fourth place in the OUA West division. The Lancers will now host the first round of the playoffs on Wednesday night at Alumni Field against the Guelph Gryphons.
 
On Saturday, the York Lions scored two first half goals and one early in the second half as they earned the victory in Toronto. On Sunday against Guelph, Giulia Barile got the Lancers on the board first with a goal in the 39th minute to give Windsor a one goal lead heading into the second half.  However, in the second half, Guelph's Jacqueline Goulart scored twice and Courtney Whiteside added another to give the Gryphons the 3-1 win.
 
The two teams will see each other again on Wedneday night as the impressive season of the Lancer women's soccer team continues at home in Round 1 of the OUA Playoffs. Windsor will host Guelph on Wednesday night at 7:30pm on Alumni Field. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Lancers as they look to advance in exciting OUA Soccer playoff action!
