Lancers shut out by Mustangs

Box Score The Lancer women's soccer team lost to the visiting Western Mustangs on Wednesday night at Alumni Field.

The Blue & Gold dropped a 4-0 decision to the Mustangs and are now 6-4-0 on the season and in fourth place in the OUA West Division.

At the half, the score remained deadlocked at zero after Lancer goaltender Krysten Lawrence made a diving deflection on a Western breakaway to keep the Mustangs at bay for the time being.

In the second, the Mustangs took control of the field and netted four goals in 30 minutes of action to earn the victory of the host Lancers.

Third year striker Amanda Winquist earned a hat-trick for the Mustangs, while sophomore Amanda Boyle scored the other Western goal.

The Lancers will return to the field on Sunday afternoon when they host the Laurier Golden Hawks (8-1-1) as part of Alumni Weekend at 1:00pm at Alumni Field.
