Box Score 2 The Lancer women's soccer team earned their first two wins of the season with a weekend sweep over the Brock Badgers and McMaster Marauders.

Windsor defeated the Badgers 4-1 on Saturday afternoon in St. Catharines, and followed it up with a 2-0 shutout victory over McMaster Sunday in Hamilton.

On Saturday against Brock, the Windsor women opened the scoring five minutes into the first half as
Becca Fuerth beat Brock starting goaltender Jenna Vasiliaskas for her first goal of the season. The Lancers would strike again in the 39th minute to go up 2-0 as
Giulia Barile found the head of Laura Leece for her first of 2014.

Just three minutes into the second half, Fuerth would bury home her second of the contest to put the Lancers up 3-0. In the 59th minute Leece would setup Barile for her first goal of the campaign for the commanding 4-0 lead.

Brock's Alicia Robinson, would spoil the shutout in the 64th minute burying home a rebound over the hands of Windsor starting goalkeeper
Krystin Lawrence making it 4-1.

Lawrence made 11 saves in the victory.

Windsor's win over the Marauders is the Lancers first win against the squad since October 2009 when the Lancers shut them out once again 1-0.

Fourth year forward
Bella Riccardi scored her first marker of the season just four minutes into the game with an unassisted goal on McMaster goaltender Brittany Duffey.

The Lancers scored their second goal of the match at the 34 minute mark with another unassisted goal from sophomore
Giulia Barile.

Goaltender Tara Bernard-Rae was strong in net making four saves to earn her first shutout of the season.

With a 2-1 record, the Lancers will come home and host the Guelph Gryphons (Saturday) and York Lions (Sunday) in their first home games of the season. Both games kick-off at 1:00pm at Alumni Field.Â
