Lancers host Nipissing in school outreach event

Windsor, ON – Head coach Kevin Hamlin and the Windsor Lancers men's hockey team will host the Nipissing Lakers on Friday, December 2nd at 12:30pm at South Windsor Arena in a special mid-day community outreach event.
Ā
The Lancers, in partnership with the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board and Cypher Systems Group, will host the Lakers in front of local students from around the region who'll be bused in especially for the game.
Ā
The event will support the team's "Lancers against Bullying" annual campaign geared towards Windsor-Essex students. This is the second time the Lancers have partnered with the school board for such an event. In November 2014, the Lancers hosted the McGill University Redman in a similar event to help bring awareness to local youth about the detrimental effects of bullying and what they can do to help prevent it.
Ā
"We are thrilled to be able to once again host this unique event in partnership with the school board and Cypher Systems," said Director of Athletics Mike Havey. "It will be a great chance for students from the region to see two of the top university hockey teams in the country compete while also promoting our "Lancers against Bullying" awareness program."
Ā
"Our team is looking forward to hosting Nipissing as part of this exciting outreach event," commented Coach Hamlin. "The opportunity to combine a great CIS hockey game with our "Lancers against Bullying" initiative is something all our players, coaches and support staff are excited about."
