The No. 7 Windsor Lancers took care of business on their home floor Sunday afternoon against the Trent Excalibur, 3-0 (25-9, 25-17, 25-18).
Â
The win moves the Lancers to 9-3 on the season, keeping the Lancers right on McMaster's tail, keeping pressure on the Marauders as the two squads battle it out for first place in the OUA west as the playoffs loom.
Â
GAME STATS
Nicholas Taylor led all players with 15 kills. The Lancers were led by Brady Gyemi who had 12.
Â

Â

Â
GAME FLOW
The Lancers blew the game wide open early in first set.
Pierce Johnson was huge for the Lancers with four kills, while
Brad Gyemi picked up three as well as the Lancers cruised to a large lead at the technical timeout. The break did little to change the flow of the set as the Lancers dominated the first set, defensively and offensively, taking the set in decisive 25-9 fashion.
Â
In the second set the Lancers were once again the best team on the floor at the onset. Johnson and Gyemi continued to dominate the floor, scoring whenever they could. Trent's Nicholas Taylor gave the Excalibur a boost in the set but it still wasn't enough to overcome the Lancers, who took the set 25-17.
Â
Trent started the third set in total control, the Lancers were down early and looked discombobulated at the start and the Excalibur took advantage, quickly going to work building a lead. The Lancers battled back right before the technical, with Gyemi's six third set kills getting them the lead before the technical timeout. The Lancers held on after the technical to win the set and sweep Trent, 25-18.
