The Windsor Lancers started their last weekend of the season with a 3-1 (21-25, 25-12, 25-19, 25-16) win over the Guelph Gryphons. After falling behind in the first set, the blue and gold took the following three to win the match
GAME STATS
Brad Gyemi led the game with an impressive offensive performance of 14 kills. Teammate
Pierce Johnson sent 13 kills of his own past the Guelph team, while also contributing defensively with 12 digs. Zarko Ubiparip led the Gryphons with 12 kills.
Nolan Langley set the Lancers up with 40 assists, while Guelph's Gideon Dresser contributed 24.
GAME FLOW
The two teams traded points to start the first frame. A big run by Guelph put the Gryphons up by eight points, but a Lancer push late in the set saw Windsor narrow the gap. Unable to complete the comeback, the Lancers dropped the set 25-21.
The second frame again saw points going back and forth, but this time it was the Lancers that went on the run. The blue and gold gave up only one point in an 11-point run to dominate the set 25-12.
The tight game continued into the third set, with the Lancers maintaining a one-point lead at the technical timeout. The Lancers made a push to close the frame 25-19 over the Gryphons.
The blue and gold carried their momentum into the fourth frame. After jumping ahead with a seven-point run to start the set, the Lancers extended their lead to 10 points. Windsor held off the Guelph push, taking the final set 25-16, and winning the match.

In their last game of the season the Windsor Lancers will host the Waterloo Warriors at the St. Denis Centre on Sunday, February 24 at 3:00pm. Prior to the game, the Blue & Gold will recognize graduating seniors
