GAME STATS
The Lancers opened the scoring and did well on the offensive end in the first quarter. The Gryphons to their credit worked hard on defending the paint so the Lancers went to work outside, making four three pointers in the first half. Guelph's defense kept the game tight though and in the second quarter Guelph wrestled the lead back, led by Modupe Okeowo. The Gryphons had a very productive second quarter and went into the break up two, 40-38.
Â
Guelph came out of the break firing on all cylinders as they got their shots to drop and the Lancers were in trouble. Windsor's deficit grew to seven in the third quarter and the Gryphons managed to stay out in front heading into the final frame. The blue and gold fought back and had chances to win late but just couldn't it done, losing just their second game in 2019, 79-74.
