Jordan Collison named head coach of Lancer cross country

Windsor, ON - The University of Windsor's Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the appointment of Jordan Collison as the new head coach of the Lancer cross country program.

Collison is no stranger to the Lancer family, spending the 2021-22 season as an assistant coach with the program. Prior to that, Collison competed for the blue and gold from 2013-2016 while completing his degree in kinesiology.

"We are very pleased to have Jordan stepping into the role of head coach," said Director of Athletics Stephanie White. "Jordan has demonstrated tremendous leadership and has earned the respect of our Lancer student-athletes during his short time with the program. His own experience as a collegiate student-athlete, combined with his ability to teach and lead, will help with the development of our athletes and the future success of the program."

As a student-athlete, the Southampton, ON native helped the blue and gold to a pair of OUA cross country silver medals in 2014 & 2015 and played a key role in the Lancers 2016 OUA track & field championship.

"I couldn't be more excited to be taking on this position with the Lancers," said Collison. "There is a long history of championship-winning teams here in Windsor and I look forward to getting back to that level and carrying on that tradition. "

Collison spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career with the University of Montana cross country program where he was named team captain in his second season and was named a Big Sky academic all-conference twice.

He also has spent the past four years coaching with StrideWise Running Club

After graduating from the University of Windsor, Collison served as the head of Physical Education at Lertlah School in Bangkok, Thailand from 2016-2017, is a registered kinesiologist and was the head of strength and conditioning at The Runner's Academy from 2017-21. He is currently in his final year at the Canadian College of Osteopathy.
