The Windsor Lancers are pleased to announce that
Thomas Kennedy has been named the OUA men's basketball most valuable player and an OUA first-team all-star, while
Najee Brown-Henderson was named a second-team all-star.
Â
Kennedy, a fourth year power forward from Windsor, had another tremendous season for the Lancers as he once again established himself as the premier big man in the province. He averaged 20.8 points and 13.5 rebounds per game helping Windsor to a first place finish in the OUA west division and a No. 6 ranking in U SPORTS.
Â
Thomas is without question one of the most talented forwards in Canada, and arguably the most dominate rebounder in the country. This season, he elevated his game and finished the season with an outstanding 16 double-doubles to lead the OUA and the nation in rebounding.
Â
Kennedy will close out his Lancer career as the program's all-time leader in scoring with an amazing 1479 points in just 83 career games, all-time leader in field goals with 591, and all-time leader in blocks with 117. He finishes second overall in career rebounds with 986.
Â
Brown-Henderson was named an OUA all-star after an explosive season with the blue and gold. In his first year with the program, the Windsor native scored an outstanding 453 total points to finish second in the OUA in scoring, fourth in U SPORTS, and become the Lancers all-time single season leader in the category. He also tops the Lancer single season record book in total three-point field goals with 76.
Â
He was sixth in the OUA, and 10th in the country, in points per game averaging 20.6 points, and his play making ability was remarkable as he finished fifth in the OUA and seventh overall in the nation with 110 total assists.
Â
Congratulations Thomas and Najee on your amazing seasons with the Lancers!
