Andrew (Drew) Foster has been named the interim head coach of the Windsor Lancer women's volleyball team.
Â
The lead assistant on the women's coaching staff for the past eleven seasons, Foster has been with the team since 2014. He has been integral to the success of the program over the years. Foster was recognized for his efforts by being named the 2024-25 Eddi Chittaro Assistant Coach of the Year at the Lancers' annual Evening of Excellence.
Â
"We're confident in Coach Foster stepping into this role and providing the stability and leadership our team needs at this time," said Director of Athletics
Stephanie White. "We are lucky to have a coach of Drew's calibre available to step in to support the team."
Â
Prior to joining Lancers on the bench, Foster had a successful five-year volleyball career as a libero with the blue and gold from 2007-12. During that time, Windsor made three playoff appearances and hosted two quarter-final matches. Foster was also presented with the Windsor Lancers' Leadership & Development award in 2010.
Â
In addition to coaching at Windsor, Foster also has extensive experience with the local South County Bandits Volleyball Club. Over ten seasons with the club, Foster coached over twenty future post-secondary athletes and also spent five seasons as the club's first Technical Director.
Â
"I am incredibly honoured to be named interim head coach of the Lancer women's volleyball program," said Foster. "This university and team are very close to my heart, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue working with this talented group of athletes."
