The Windsor Lancers women's golf team hit the links at the Cambridge Golf Club as they participated in the Waterloo Women's Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 27) and Sunday (Sept. 28), finishing in seventh place overall.
The Lancers overall score of 498 strokes made them one of seven teams to break 500 out of fifteen entrants, finishing just 16 strokes out of a podium finish and only one behind Toronto's white squad and six away from Carleton.
Marie Carunungan led the Lancers with an overall score of 165, leading the way with an 80 on Saturday and 85 on Sunday. Her efforts placed her 18
th overall individually. Carunungan was followed closely by
Kennedy Fremlin (167),
Lauren Purves (168), and
Vanessa Ardovini (174).
The Lancers continue their season at the Gryphon Invitational on Monday, September 29, in Guelph, Ont. before they host the Windsor Invitational next weekend.
