The University of Windsor Lancers men's hockey team will play for a bronze medal at the 2026 U SPORTS Men's Hockey Championship on Sunday, March 21 against the UNB REDS at 9 a.m. Atlantic at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, N.S.
The fourth-seeded Lancers defeated Mount Royal 4-3 in the quarterfinal before falling to the hometown No. 8 SMU Huskies 4-1 in the semifinal. Windsor is looking for their second third-place national finish at program history in their first-ever bronze medal game. They earned third in 2013-14, but that was after the round robin and they did not play in a bronze medal game, as the current system was introduced the following season.
The No. 2 seed UNB REDS came into this tournament as the AUS champions, going 20-8-2 (W-L-OT) in the regular season and 5-1 in the AUS playoffs. They defeated the Queen's Gaels 5-2 in the quarterfinal on Friday night and fell 7-4 to UQTR in Saturday's semifinal. UNB has one of the most successful men's hockey programs in history with ten national titles.
