The Department of Athletics and Recreational Services is pleased to announce their major award nominees for the 2025-26 Windsor Lancers Evening of Excellence.

The winners will be announced at the Lancers' annual awards banquet which will take place on Wednesday April 1, 2026, at the St. Clair Centre of the Arts.

The nominees for University of Windsor female rookie of the year Ella Harris from golf, Jane Pozzi from women's soccer, and Lerissa Stevenson from women's hockey.

On the men's side, rookie of the year nominees includes Brett Miller from football, Colton Smith from men's hockey, and James Wheeler from cross country.

The super sophomore awards are presented to the outstanding female and male athletes in their second year of eligibility. The female nominees are Bridget Cameron from women's hockey, Jade Hunte from women's basketball, and Ella Heredi from track & field.

The male super sophomore nominees are Marco Piccioni from football, Max Donoso from men's hockey, and Tristen Miscia from track & field.

The Captain's Trophy is presented to the male and female captains who demonstrate outstanding leadership both on and off the field while also making a significant contribution to the overall success of the team.

Female nominees include Joelle Olla from cross country, Keana McKibbin from women's hockey, and Kira Atherley from women's basketball. Male nominees include Matt McNamara from men's hockey, Mateo Nepszy from men's soccer, and Justin Kelly-Boxe from baseball.

The Gino Fracas Coach of the Year category has three outstanding nominees this year. They include Kevin Hamlin from men's hockey, James Gravelle from men's volleyball, and Jordan Collison from cross country.

The prestigious DeMarco Awards are presented yearly to the top female and male student-athletes who best combine academics and athletics. The female nominees include Emma Hanley from softball, Kali Grootenboer from women's basketball, and Mikayla May from track & field.

The male nominees for the DeMarco Award include Ethan John from football, Noah Costa from cross country/track & field, and Darian Koskie from men's volleyball.

The Banner Shield is presented annually to the University of Windsor's outstanding female athlete of the year.

This year's three nominees for the Banner Shield include Samara Quanz from cross country/track & field, Isabella Goveia from track & field, and Aliah Admans from women's volleyball. Â

The Olympic Shield is presented annually to the University of Windsor's outstanding male athlete of the year.

The nominees for the Olympic Shield as University of Windsor male athlete of the year are Gustavo Siqueira from men's volleyball, Brady Lidster from football, and A.J. Stanat from track & field.

The award winners will be announced this Wednesday, April 1st at the Evening of Excellence as part of the Windsor Lancers 2025-26 Evening of Excellence.
