University of Windsor Lancers men's hockey head coach
Kevin Hamlin has named
Logan Linklater captain for the 2026-27 season and
Ty Toews,
Aaron Shaw, and
Ray Hamlin as assistant captains.
"I am very pleased with this year's leadership group. Each captain has earned the respect of the players and coaches and I have no doubt that they will guide our team to success," said Hamlin. "Logan is a premier player in the OUA. I am confident that this leadership group with him as captain will give us exactly what we need. All four individuals have Queen's Cup and national tournament experience. They understand what is necessary for our team to accomplish to get back there, and more importantly, they understand what we need to do to get the job done."
Logan Linklater will be entering his third OUA season, having led the Lancers in scoring in 2025-26 with 32 points (five goals, 27 assists) in 28 games. He also recorded five points in five OUA playoff games and had a goal and an assist at the U SPORTS Championship in March. He has 44 career points in 56 regular season games.
"Being named captain is an honour, we have an incredible group, so having that trust from my teammates and coaches is a great feeling," said Linklater. "I look at the list of guys who were captain before me and see exceptional people as well as hockey players. I'm excited for the upcoming season!"
Ty Toews had 23 points (four goals, 19 assists) in 28 regular season games last season and added three points in five OUA playoff games. He has 63 points in 84 career regular season games in the blue and gold as he enters his fourth season.
Aaron Shaw had the second-most points by a Lancer last season with 31 (nine goals, 22 assists) in 25 regular season games, including seven on the power play. He led Windsor with six points in five OUA playoff games and added an assist at nationals. Entering his fifth season, Shaw has 85 points in 89 career regular season games.
Ray Hamlin has two seasons of OUA experience under his belt, with 23 points in 52 regular season games since 2024-25. Last season, he recorded 12 points (three goals, nine assists) in 28 regular season games. The Windsor native had one assist in two OUA playoff games and a goal and an assist at U SPORTS.
"We got a taste of championship hockey last year and everyone in our room is hungry for the opportunity to go further," added Linklater. "The group we have coming in, we all have one goal: bring the Queen's Cup home!"
