In a 2025 season where the University of Windsor Lancers women's soccer team hosted their first home playoff game in nearly a decade, the Lancers look to build off of their 6-4-2 (W-L-T) record in 2025 as they aim to continue to push for a top spot in the OUA West division and make a strong playoff run.
NOTABLE RETURNING PLAYERS
An OUA second team all-star in 2025, goalkeeper
Izzy Barrette played every minute in goal for the Lancers in 2025, allowing just nine goals on 47 shots. Her .809 save percentage ranked third in the province and she recorded a 0.75 goals against average.
After not consuming eligibility in 2025, midfielder
Olivia Corazza returns to the Lancer lineup and looks to return to form as a top offensive threat. The LaSalle native scored three goals in 2024 and four in 2023, ranking among the highest goal scorers returning to the lineup this season, where she will be relied upon.
Midfielder
Jane Pozzi will look to make an impact in just her second season in the OUA. The midfielder started all 12 regular season games in 2025, scoring a goal and adding an assist while also starting in the playoffs.

KEY MATCHUPS
August 28 vs York
The Lancers open their season on home turf against York, a team that they have defeated in three of four games since 2024. The blue and gold secured a 3-2 home win against the Lions in their last meeting on Sep. 12, 2025 and will look to repeat their success and start the season on a strong note.
September 13 vs Laurier
In 2025, Windsor hosted their first home playoff game since 2016 and fell 2-1 to the Golden Hawks in a tightly contested contest. This matchup, the third home game of the season for the Lancers, will prove to be a chance at redemption for the blue and gold, who last defeated Laurier in 2024.
September 18 vs Guelph
A matchup against the Gryphons, ranked No. 8 in the country in U SPORTS's preseason rankings, will be a pivotal contest for the Lancers in a time of year where they will be pushing for a playoff spot. Windsor and Guelph drew 0-0 on August 31 in Windsor last season, breaking a string of four straight defeated at the hands of Guelph.
October 9 vs Algoma
The final home game of the regular season, the Lancers will aim to build on their four-game winning streak against the Thunderbirds, a team they have a 10-1-1 (W-L-T) record against since 2016. This match may play a pivotal role in playoff positioning, and the Lancers will require the support of the Windsor faithful crowd to push them over the finish line.
