Lancer Football's Matt Morencie drafted by the CFL's B.C. Lions

Windsor, ON - The Windsor Lancers are pleased to announce that standout offensive lineman Matt Morencie was drafted by the B.C. Lions this past weekend in the CFL Entry Draft.

Morencie was drafted twenty-first overall in the third round of the draft, and heads to camp next month in British Columbia.

For the past four seasons, Morencie has been the man in front of the man on the Lancer Football team's offensive line. His outstanding blocking was a big reason why Lancer running back Daryl Stephenson became Canadian University Football's All-Time Leading Rusher.

This past year, he was named an OUA First Team All-Star for the second straight year at offensive tackle, was the team's most valuable player and participated in the 2008 East-West Bowl Showcase Game.
