Box Score WINDSOR, Ont.- The Windsor Lancers men's basketball team suffered its first home loss of the season on Friday night, falling 74-62 to the East-division leading Ryerson Rams at the St. Denis Centre.

Lien Phillip picked up a double-double, including 15 points and 10 rebounds in a losing cause for the Lancers (3-2). Jahmal Jones and Jordon Gauthier recorded 22 and 24 points respectively in the victory for the Rams (5-0), who remain undefeated on the year.
The Lancers defence kept the Rams at Bay through the first five minutes of the opening quarter, as the home side held a 7-0 advantage at the 4:40 mark. However, the Rams scored the next seven points to even the game. Jordon Gauthier put the visitors in the lead with a long two-pointer, as the Lancers committed back-to-back turnovers. Ryerson went on to score 13 unanswered while Windsor' offense dried up in the final five minutes of the quarter.
Lien Phillip quickly ended the drought moments into the second, nailing a three-pointer. The Rams turned over the ball on their next possession, and
Rotimi Osuntola Jr. made them pay with a thunderous dunk that made it a one point game and brought the Lancers back into the contest. However, the Rams picked up five straight to help maintain their spread.
Phillip picked up another important jumper from beyond the arc after a Ryerson turnover to bring Windsor within four. A couple of minutes later, Collins sank a three to tie the game at 26-26. However, the Rams would take a 28-26 lead into halftime. Phillip (Grenada) led the Lancers with nine points and six rebounds in the first half, while Jordon Gauthier had a half-high of 11 points for the Rams, who shot 38.7% from the field. Windsor was running at just under 30% efficiency in the first half, but forced 12 Ryerson turnovers in the first two quarters.
The teams traded three-pointers coming out of the locker rooms, as Jones' jumpers was quickly met with a basket from Osuntola. The Lancers couldn't capitalize on a Rams turnover, throwing away the ball to had possession back to Ryerson. Jones notched another three, and teammate Gauthier dropped another basket, quickly extending the lead to double-digits.
The home team looked out of sorts midway through the period, tossing errant balls that led to easy points for the Rams. Jones continued to thwart the Lancers defence, extending his team's lead to 14 off an acrobatic three point play. They would take a 55-41 advantage into the final quarter of play.
The Lancers hit some of their shots to open the fourth, but the Rams were able to answer through the first few minutes of the period to maintain their lead. Down by 13 points, Collins penetrated the lane and picked up the bucket as well as the foul. The Toronto native converted his free throw, bringing Windsor within 10. Phillip notched a three with just over a minute to play, cutting the lead to single-digits, but Aaron Best drained a shot from beyond the arc to put the contest out of reach.
The Lancers shot just 31.8% from the floor, compared to 44.3% from the Rams on the night, and were outrebounded by the visitors 42-38.
The Lancers will look to get back in the win column tomorrow evening when they take on the Toronto Varsity Blues. Tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m., and can be seen live online
