Lancer men's volleyball head coach
James Gravelle is pleased to announce five new team members for the 2022-23 season.
Â
The group includes two first-year students, Noah Mastronardi and Kaden Reid, and three transfer students, Zach Albert, Stephen Kary, and Darian Koskie.
Â
Mastronardi, a local product from St. Anne's High School and Sky Volley (Windsor), is a setter who has competed provincially in both indoor and beach volleyball. "Noah has been on our radar for some time and we are happy that he selected UWindsor and our Lancer volleyball program," commented Gravelle. "He is a good athlete with a competitive spirit who is driven to succeed."
Â
Mastronardi will study math this fall.
Â
A native of Chatham, ON, Reid competed for the Chatham Ballhawks and Ursuline College, and will work towards his degree in social work. "Kaden has a good arm and continues to impress with his powerful spike serve. He will have the chance to develop into a big contributor in the years to come."
Â
Albert, from Brampton, ON, is an outside hitter who transfers to Windsor from Fanshawe College. While with Fanshawe, Albert captured a national championship and was named a first team OCAA all-star in 2019. "Zach is a natural athlete who can make the game look easy. His skill set will slot nicely into our lineup at the Outside Hitter position."
Â
He will study in the Odette School of Business.
Â
Kary, an Ottawa native, is a middle who will study English. "Stephen has a solid understanding of the game and is a powerful jumper and strong at the net. We are glad to welcome him to our program as he continues his volleyball career."
Â
Also playing at the middle position and studying business, Koskie is a native of Winnipeg, MB and transferring to Windsor from the University of Manitoba. "Darian has a strong serve, block, and attack. He is a solid player who is eager to continue to improve and reach his full potential."
