University of Windsor student Nathan Drouillard has been named to the Canadian FISU team for the World University Triathlon Championships.

TORONTO- A contingent of eight Canadian student-athletes will represent Canada at the 2024 FISU World University Triathlon Championships held in Gdansk, Poland from August 30 - 31.
On the men's side, triathletes Nathan Drouillard of the University of Windsor, Daniel Damian and Hayden Woodrow of the University of Victoria and Nicolas Bolouri of McGill will don the Maple Leaf.
On the women's side, Juliette Chenail-Lafond of Université de Montréal will join Saoirse Kealey of Carleton University, Jordyn Bandastra of the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy (formerly Brock University) and Isla Britton of the University of Edinburgh to round out the Canadian squad.
Leading the contingent as team official is Lauren Nutt of Triathlon Canada. Nutt recently represented Team Canada at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympic Games as the Team Manager of the Canadian Triathlon team.
The city of Gdansk will play host to student-athletes of 28 countries who will look to swim, bike and run their way into medal contention, with Gdansk Brzezno Beach being at the epicentre of the competition.
The individual course will include a 750 m swim, followed by a 20 km bike and finally a five km run. The relay race will start with a 300 m swim before a 5km bike and finally a two km run.

Nathan Drouillard, University of Windsor
Nathan Drouillard is from Windsor, ON, and represents the University of Windsor, where he will be starting his PhD in physics in September 2024. His greatest accomplishment in triathlon is securing third place in the U23/Elite category of the Ontario Cup Series in 2022
Daniel Damian, University of Victoria
Daniel Damian hails from Victoria, BC, where he studies neurobiology at the University of Victoria. In addition to his academic pursuits, Daniel is a member of the Vikes Varsity Cross Country and Track team. His most notable achievement in triathlon is being crowned the U23 Canadian Triathlon Champion in 2023 and reaching the podium at the 2023 Europe Premium Cup in Holten, Netherlands.
Hayden Woodrow, University of Victoria
Hayden Woodrow, originally from Calgary, Alberta, began his athletic career in swimming before transitioning to triathlon. He moved to the West Coast to attend the University of Victoria, where he runs cross country and track while studying marine biology. Hayden's proudest accomplishment in triathlon is earning a bronze medal at the Canadian U23 Nationals in Montreal.
Saoirse Kealey, Carleton University
Saoirse Kealey is an athlete from Ottawa, ON, representing Carleton University at the upcoming FISU World University Championships. Kealy is also formerly a member of the Carleton Ravens swimming team. In triathlon, her greatest accomplishment is securing a podium finish at the provincial level.
Jordyn Bandstra, Canadian Academy of Osteopathy
Jordyn Bandstra, from Greenbank, Ontario, is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences (M.OMSc) at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy. Bandstra is also a former member of the Brock Badgers swimming team. Her top achievement in triathlon is competing at the Age Group World Championships 2023 in Hamburg, Germany, where she was the top Canadian and placed 11th in her age group.
Isla Britton, University of Edinburgh
Isla Britton, originally from Montreal, Quebec, is studying for a BSc Honours in Medical Sciences at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. In triathlon, her achievements include representing Canada at the Junior World Championships and securing podium finishes in two Elite Continental Cups.
Juliette Lafond, Université de Montréal
Juliette Lafond, from Montreal, Quebec, is a kinesiology student at the Université de Montréal. She discovered triathlon only two years ago after growing up as a swimmer. Seeking new challenges, Juliette transitioned to triathlon and quickly found success, starting with age group races and moving on to elite competitions, including Continental Cups around the world.
Nicolas Bolouri, McGill University
Nicolas Bolouri, from Montreal, Quebec, is a Software Engineering student at McGill University. He has been involved in triathlon since the age of eight and has achieved significant milestones, including a seventh place finish at the 2021 Junior Americas Triathlon Championships and a victory at the 2022 Junior Quebec Championships.
