Lancer golfer Alek Mauro captured the individual gold medal at the 2025 Canadian University/College National Championship last week at Rivershore Golf Links in Kamloops, BC! Mauro shot -10 over four days to claim the top spot at the tournament. Overall, the blue and gold finished in the top ten in the team competition.

After shooting an impressive third-round 66 to take a six-shot cushion for the gold medal, other athletes began making a comeback and attempted to catch up to Mauro. Perseverance and determination helped him win by just a single stroke against the competition and come away victorious. 

This win secures Mauro a spot in the 120th Canadian Men's Amateur Championship presented by BDO set to kick off at the Royal Ottawa Golf Club in Gatineau, Que. on July 26.

Overall, the Lancer men's team finished in 10th place at the Championships with their team consisting of Mauro, Jarrod Smith, Andrew Pillon, Colin Karpala, and Michael Berlingieri.
