Inspired by a culture built on toughness, humility, accountability, trust, and selflessness, the University of Windsor's men's basketball program is ready to continue building upon a foundation that has seen them make the playoffs five times in the past six seasons.
"The plan is to be better than your last season because you're only as good as your last game," said head coach Chris Cheng. "We haven't been past the first round since 2023."
The Lancers finished last season with a 12-10 conference record for a second straight year before bowing out to Guelph on the road in a nail-biting defeat.
NOTABLE RETURNING PLAYERS
Luke Grace
The 6-foot-9 business administration major has helped fill the void left behind by Mike Moser Trophy winner Thomas Kennedy nicely, scoring 15.3 points and 9.4 rebounds per game last season while adding 30 steals, 20 assists, and ten blocks.
The Ailsa Craig, Ontario native was named an OUA Third-Team All-Star last season and shot 53.6% from the field.
Bronson Chambers
The 6-foot-5 human kinetics major and incoming senior was a key starter for Windsor last season, scoring 11.7 points and 3.76 rebounds per game across 21 contests while adding on 79 rebounds, 54 assists, and 16 steals. The Brampton, Ontario native will once again lead a Lancer backcourt that is surrounded by veteran leadership and youthful energy.
"He and Luke will carry the load offensively in terms of shot selections, shot attempts, and creative playmaking," said Cheng. "They have the size, skill set, and leadership ability."
Yashar Greaves-Saadat
The Windsor, Ontario native is returning energized and excited following a year off from playing OUA basketball; in 22 games as a starting sophomore, however, he scored 8.5 points and 4.27 rebounds per night while adding 45 assists, 20 steals, and 12 blocks.
Sophomores Marodama Benjam, a 6-foot-8 forward and engineering major, and Dallas Champagnie-Smith, a 6-foot-0 guard and mathematics major, are two more returning players to also keep a keen eye on this season, per Cheng.
NEW PLAYERS
Rodrigue Muntu
A transfer from the American junior collegiate system, the 6-foot-4 guard will be a scoring contributor at all three levels and an athletic defender in his own end, according to Cheng.
Ben Dorling
The 6-foot-7 freshman forward and Guelph, Ontario native stands out for Cheng on the court due to his nose for defence and rebounding, as well as an underrated ability to knock down three-point shots.

KEY MATCHUPS
October 30 vs York
The Lancers open their fifth season at the Toldo Lancer Centre versus a Lions side they've beaten 13 times in the past 16 matchups; furthermore, since York has only won more than eight conference regular season games in a season once since 2019-20, Windsor must start the year off with a win.
November 28 vs Western
As with any sport at the University of Windsor, beating the 401 rival remains a massive priority, especially when Western has won seven of the last ten contests against these Lancers. This November 28th battle kicks off a home-and-home series between the two sides, and the blue and gold will need everyone around the Party Army to rally with them.
January 30 vs Guelph
Avenging a six-point first-round loss will be top of mind as Windsor completes the home portion of their regular season schedule; meanwhile, the Toldo Lancer Centre hasn't been kind to the Gryphons recently as the blue and gold have won three of the past four games.
