With the victory, the Lancers move to 3-6-1 on the season.

On Friday night, Windsor got off to a strong start as forward Mark Thorburn scored on a powerplay at 9:25 of the first period to give the home team the 1-0 lead.

In the second period, the two teams traded a pair of goals as Matt McCready set up both to Brett Oliphant for his second of the year and Josh Gaynor who finally recorded his first goal of the season.

With a 3-2 lead after two periods, the Lancers exploded for 5 goals in the third period to break the game wide open.

The scoring outburst was led by rookie defenseman Christian Steingraber who recorded a third period hat trick to lead his team to victory.

The native of Oregon, Ohio recorded his three markers in a 5-minute span in the third as Windsor cruised to the 8-4 victory.

Kyle Tront and Brett Vandehogen would each add a goal in the third period to round out the scoring.

In goal, Jim Watt made 21 saves to earn the victory.

On Saturday afternoon, the Lancers earned another point at home despite falling 4-3 in a shootout to Rams at Windsor Arena.

Saturday's game was also part of Lancer Men's Hockey Fan Fest where fans and local youth had an opportunity to participate in games for prizes and giveaways and meet the team for an autograph session after the game.

On the ice, the two teams traded goals in the opening period as Brett Oliphant scored this third of the season to tie the game at 1-1.

After Ryerson scored a pair of goals to go ahead 3-1 after two periods, Windsor would respond in the third with a pair of their own.

Kyle Tront scored his third of the season and Brett Oliphant added his second of the game and fourth of the season to tie it up at 3-3 and send the game into overtime.

After a scoreless extra period, the two teams went to a shootout to decide a winner.

With neither team able to score with their first three shooters, Ryerson's Alex Sharpe snuck one past Lancer netminder Jim Watt to give his team the victory.

Ryerson outshot Windsor 40-37 in the game. Jim Watt made 36 saves on the night.

The Lancers will be back in action this weekend as they travel to Kingston, Ontario for a weekend series with the Queen's Gaels.
