University of Windsor Lancers men's hockey defenseman
Dylan Schives has signed a pro contract with Rittner Buam of the Alps Hockey League following the conclusion of his U SPORTS career.
In 2025-26, Schives scored 24 points (12 goals, 12 assists) in 28 regular season games to lead Lancer defencemen in scoring. Six of his points came on the power play, with three of those being power-play goals. He also netted four game-winning goals to help the Lancers claim the top spot in the OUA West Division.
In five OUA playoff games, the Tilbury native scored one goal and added two assists, and followed it up with an assist in three U SPORTS Championship games. He was named an OUA second-team all-star, the first time receiving provincial recognition in his career.
Rittner Buam are based in Ritten, Italy and play in the Alps Hockey League. Seven of the 13 teams in the league are based in Italy, with four in Austria and one each in Croatia and Slovenia. Rittner has won the Alps Hockey League twice (2017 and 2024) since the league's inception in 2016-17. The 98-year-old organization has previously played in various levels of the Italian leagues.
