Men's hockey adds Granger to 2026-27 recruiting class

University of Windsor Lancers men's hockey head coach Kevin Hamlin has announced the addition of Gavin Granger, a defenceman from the Battlefords North Stars of the SJHL, to the 2026-27 recruiting class.

Granger recorded 44 points (seven goals, 37 assists) in 51 games for Battlefords in 2025-26 and had five assists in 12 playoff games.

"Gavin was the captain of his junior team and is considered one of the best defencemen available in the SJHL," said Hamlin. "He is a guy who can quarterback a power play or defend in big moments of the game. [He is] a very good prospect."

A native of Saskatoon, Granger played all four years of his SJHL career for Battlefords, playing in 154 games and recording 76 points (13 goals, 63 assists). He also played in 27 playoff games as Battlefords made the playoffs in each season of his tenure with the club.
