University of Windsor Lancers men's hockey head coach
Kevin Hamlin has announced the addition of Gabe Runco, a defenseman from the Milton Menace of the OJHL, to the 2026-27 recruiting class.
Runco began 2025-26 with 10 games for the Rochester Jr. Americans (NAHL) before playing 40 games with Milton, where he recorded 18 points (two goals, 16 assists) in the regular season and five points in ten playoff games.
"Gabe is a physical and talented defenseman," said Hamlin. "He played in every imaginable situation for his junior teams and his coaches all said the same thing about him: [he is] a very tough and competitive guy."
An Ancaster, Ont. native, Runco spent four total seasons in the OJHL, playing for the Brantford 99ers, Burlington Cougars, Cobourg Cougars, and Milton, dressing in 175 games. He also appeared in 23 OHL games with the Niagara IceDogs in 2022-23.
