#6 Lancers earn 80-77 victory over Gee Gees in overtime thriller

Box Score The Windsor Lancers Men's Basketball team earned a hard fought 80-77 overtime victory over the Ottawa Gee Gees on Saturday night in Ottawa.

With the victory, the #6 ranked Lancers move to 3-1 in conference play.

On Saturday night, the Lancers got off to a good start against the Gee Gees as they held an 18-14 lead after one quarter of play.

Neither team was able to break free of the other in the first half as Windsor added slightly to their lead and were ahead 36-31 at the break.

Despite holding a seven point advantage after three quarters of play, the Gee Gees were able to battle back in the fourth quarter and tie the game, forcing it into overtime.

In extra time, the Lancers got some clutch baskets to claim a tough 80-77 victory on the road against Ottawa.

In the victory, Isaac Kuon led the way with 23 points while Nigel Johnson-Tygther added 17 points and 7 rebounds.

Rookie guard Enrico Diloreto also had an impressive performance as he finished with 14 points and 6 rebounds in the victory.

Windsor shot 53% from the field in the game, including 44% from three point range. Ottawa was held to 37% percentage shooting.

The Lancers will be back at home next weekend as they host the Queen's Golden Gaels on Friday night at the RMC Paladins on Saturday at the St. Denis Centre.
