Box Score 2 The Lancer Men's Hockey team split a pair of games against the UOIT Ridgebacks in Oshawa this past weekend.
In two high scoring games, the Lancers fell 6-4 on Friday night before rebounding on Saturday to take the 5-4 win.
On Saturday, Windsor held off a UOIT third period rally and skated away with a 5-4 victory at the Campus Ice Centre.
The Lancers took a 4-1 lead midway through the second period after scoring back-to-back shorthanded goals just over a minute apart. Windsor scoring came from defenseman

Mike Lombardi and
Anthony Tapper.
After UOIT scored two third period goals to cut into the Lancer lead, Tapper added his second goal of the game to secure the victory.
Frank Dayus had a solid outing in goal for the Lancers as he stopped 42 shots and earned the victory.
In game one of the weekend series, UOIT earned a 6-4 victory on the strength of 4 third period goals.
The Ridgebacks took a 2-0 lead early in the second period after a scoreless opening fram.

Mike Lombardi scored his fifth of the year with four minutes left in the second period to bring the Lancers to within one heading into the third.
The third was a high scoring period with seven goals scored between the two teams.

Kyle Lang tied the game up early in the period, before Ryan Caicoo gave Windsor a one goal advantage and their only lead of the game.
The Ridgebacks would then go on to score two goals in the next three minutes to re-take the lead again.
In an effort to tie the game, a short handed Windsor squad pulled goaltender
Jim Watt but were unable to get the equalizer. UOIT scored an empty net goal with just one second remaining to win the game 6-4.
The Lancers will begin a busy weekend of action as they host the Brock Badgers and Waterloo Warriors on October 29th & 30th respectively. The games will be part of Alumni weekend for the Lancer Men's Hockey program.
The Saturday, October 30th game at 2pm is also the Halloween Spooktacular event. All kids who attend the game dressed up in their costume will receive free admission to the game.
