Lancers earn non-conference victory over UQAM

The Lancer Men's Basketball team showed fans that they are in for another exciting season as they earned a 78-68 victory over the UQAM Citadins in non-conference action on Saturday night at the St. Denis Centre.

The Lancers and Citadins last saw each other at the CIS National Championships last March when Windsor edged UQAM 79-74 in the consolation semi-final.

On Saturday, Windsor built an early seven point lead at the end of the first quarter. Their strong offensive attack would allow to increase that lead to 20 points later on.

The Citadins gave the Lancers some trouble in the final quarter as they cut their lead in half late in the contest. Despite the late push, Windsor was able to cruise to the 78-68 victory.

Senior Isaac Kuon led the way for the home team as he finished with a game-high 30 points. Josh Collins chipped in with 13 points and 8 rebounds while Monty Hardware added 9 points.

The Lancers will open their 2010-11 OUA conference schedule this coming weekend on the road when they travel to Toronto and Sudbury to take on the York Lions and Laurentian Voyageurs.

They'll then host their first home game of the year on Friday, November 12th hen they host the Toronto Varsity Blues at 8pm at the St. Denis Centre.
