Kuon's 43 points leads Lancers over Lions on the road

Kuon's 43-point performance helps Lancers earn 108-89 win over York.
Box Score The Windsor Lancers Men's Basketball team earned an impressive season opening victory on the road as they defeated the York Lions 108-89 on Friday night in Toronto.

Led by an incredible shooting performance from Isaac Kuon, the Lancers knocked off the Lions to move to 1-0 in regular season play.

Kuon, a fifth year senior lit up the Lions for 43 points on 16 of 20 shooting, including 5 of 7 from long range. He also added 7 rebounds and 3 assists.

Against York, the Lancers got out to an early 5-point lead in the first quarter before breaking the game wide open in the second. A high powered offensive attack allowed Windsor to outscore their opponents 31-20 in the second quarter to take a commanding lead.

The Lions had no answer for the Isaac Kuon as he helped lead his team over the 100 point barrier en route to the 108-89 win.

In addition to Kuon, Lien Phillip had a strong game for the Lancers as he finished with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Josh Collins added 10 points and 4 assists while rookie Evan Matthews chipped in with 9 points.

The Lancers will be back in action on Saturday night as they travel to Sudbury to take on the Laurentian Voyageurs.
