Lancers drop third straight, Lakehead sweeps weekend series in Thunder Bay

The No. 7 Lancer Men's Basketball team dropped two games on the weekend to the Lakehead Thunderwolves on the road in Thunder Bay. 

With the losses, the Lancers are now 11-5 in OUA play and are in second place in the OUA West behind the Thunderwolves.

On Friday night, the Lancers dropped game one of the weekend series 73-65 to the host Thunderwolves.
 
Windsor fell behind 16-8 after the first quarter before rebounding back in the second to outscore the Thunderwolves 22-13, and hold a one point, 30-29, lead at halftime.

Lakehead responded in the third quarter dominating the Lancers to go up by nine heading into the final frame.

The fourth was a tightly contested contest, and despite outscoring Lakehead by one, Windsor was unable to over-come the nine point deficit, falling to the Thunderwolves by eight.

Enrico Diloreto led the Lancers with 22 points, while Isaac Kuon chipped in 19 points.

On Saturday, the Lancers struggled from the field as they dropped their third straight game, 77-66 to Lakehead.

Diloreto had another strong night for the Lancers registering another 22 points. Josh Collins chipped in 14 points while Lien Phillip had 12 points and 14 rebounds.

Windsor took a 21-13 lead in the first quarter before Lakehead outscored the Lancers by the exact same score in the second to have the game notted at 34-34 at the break.

In the second half, the Thunderwolves narrowly edged Windsor in each quarter to build their lead and eventually take the win.

The Lancers will look to rebound and get back in the win column as they host Guelph on Wednesday night at 8:00pm at the St. Denis Centre.
