Lancer end pre-season with three set sweep over St. Clair College

The University of Windsor men's volleyball team closed out their pre-season schedule with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-18 and 25-15) sweep of their cross town rivals, the St. Clair College Saints out of the OCAA. They defeated them 3-0.

The Lancers finish their pre-season with a 6-3 record, with their only losses at the hands of the #6 Western Mustangs (twice) and the Guelph Gryphons.

“It's fun to play against players from our hometown as we get to showcase both programs,” said Lancer head coach Shawn Lippert. “These athletes have grown up playing together, so both teams have a great time out on the court.”

Windsor controlled the game from the opening serve, as they jumped out to a commanding 13-4 lead in the first set. The Lancers finished the set strong and carried that momentum through the remainder of the match.

As a team the Lancers finished with 43 kills, 12 aces, 5 blocks and 52 digs.

Adam Thompson led the team with 17 pts (9 kills,2 aces, 6 digs) with Greg Simone adding 14 points on 5 kills and 9 digs.

The Lancers open up the regular season this Friday night at 8:00pm in Hamilton when they take on the defending OUA Champion the McMaster Marauders.
