Box Score 2 The Windsor Lancers Women's Hockey team split a pair of road games this past weekend against the York Lions and Waterloo Warriors.
With the split, Windsor is now 7-5-1 on the season and in sole possession of fourth place in the OUA.
On Sunday, the Lancers closed out the weekend series with a 3-1 win over the Waterloo Warriors in Waterloo.
Manon Davis wasted no time putting the Lancers on the board as she accepted a pass from
Candace Rapchak and
Courtney Spoors and knocked one home just 19 seconds into the opening period.
Later in the period, on the Lancers first power play opportunity,
Alyssa Baldin scored her tenth of the season from Rapchak and
Tania Mills to give Windsor a comfortable two goal lead heading into the second.
In the middle frame, the Warriors closed the gap with a power play goal of their own from Ona Mezenberg at the 7:17 of the period.
With the Lancers ahead 2-1 in the third, Waterloo pulled goaltender Martina Michaud in favour of the extra attacker in an attempt to tie the game.

Karlyle Robinson held strong to keep Waterloo off the board.
With 18 seconds remaining,
Courtney Spoors added an empty net goal to secure the 3-1 win for Windsor.

Karlyle Robinson had a strong outing in net with 21 saves.
The night before in Toronto, the Lancers dropped a close one goal game to the York Lions 2-1.
After a scoreless first period, the Lions put up two quick goals to start the second period and take a 2-0 lead just five minutes into the frame.
Windsor retaliated at 15:02 pf the opening period with a goal from
Manon Davis to bring the Lancers to within one.
The Lancers were unable to add a marker to tie the game as they dropped the hard fought 2-1 decision.

Julia Ouroumis made 15 saves for the Lancers in net.
Windsor will return home next weekend to host the Toronto Varsity Blues and Ryerson Rams at South Windsor Arena.
