Lancers earn sixth straight win with victory over Marauders

The Lancer men's basketball team won their sixth straight game on Saturday afternoon as they came out on top of the McMaster Marauders 78-74 in Hamilton.

Windsor is now 9-3 on the season and is tied for third in the OUA West with the Marauders.

McMaster opened the contest with a 7-0 run, but Windsor would respond with a run of their own to take a 10-8 lead in the first quarter, en route to a 23-16 lead at the end of the first.

In the second quarter, Enrico Diloreto got hot from three point land to put the Lancers ahead 33-17 . McMaster's Cam Michaud hit a three to cut the Windsor lead to 10 at 33-23, but Windsor would respond to go up by fifteen, 38-23.

Diloreto hit his fourth three pointer of the half to give Windsor a 41-23 lead and they built it to 48-31 at the break.

Diloreto finished with 17 points, most of them coming in the first half, to lead the Lancers in scoring.

The Lancers maintained their pace to open the third with a three by Rotimi Osuntola Jr.

From there, the Marauders went on a mini run that started a second half comeback attempt. McMaster chipped away at the Lancers lead throughout the second half to cut Windsor's lead to only four at the final buzzer.

Lien Phillip finished the day with 12 points and 15 rebounds.

Windsor will now head up the 401 on Wednesday to take on the last place Western Mustangs at 8:00pm at Alumni Hall in London.
