Lien Phillip's 18 point, 14 rebound performance, the Lancer Men's Basketball team closed out their regular season with a solid 79-64 win over the Western Mustangs on Saturday afternoon at the St. Denis Centre.
With the victory, the Lancers finish the regular season with a 15-7 record and earn the #4 seed in the OUA West playoffs. They will now host the #5 seeded Brock Badgers on Wednesday, February 22nd at 7pm in the OUA West Quarter-Finals.
On Saturday, the Lancers got a strong performance for power forward
Lien Phillip who dominated both ends of the court in the victory. Windsor jumped out to an early 13-8 lead and held a 36-25 halftime lead.
The Mustangs had trouble containing Windsor's interior post play as well as their outside shooting, as
Enrico Diloreto connected on 4 of 6 from long range while Junior Osuntola went 3 of 6 from deep. Diloreto finished a strong outing with 16 points and 4 rebounds while Osuntola added 13 points and 6 rebounds.
Windsor maintained their double-digit lead in the third quarter and extended to a 15-point advantage in the fourth as they cruised to the 79-64 win.
Evan Matthews also had a solid performance for the Lancers as he added 12 points on 5 of 9 shooting.
Jahmal McQueen added 7 points and 5 rebounds in the win.
The Lancers will now turn their attention to the Brock Badgers as they get ready for the playoffs on Wednesday with the OUA West Quarter-Finals at 7pm at the St. Denis Centre.
