Box Score The Lancer women's hockey team dominated the Ryerson Rams 6-0 in their final regular season home game of the 2011-12 regular season.
Prior to the game, the Lancers honoured graduating athletes
Manon Davis and
Candace Rapchak. Rapchak finishes her career as the Lancers' all-time leading scorer, while Davis is right behind her at number two.
Following the win, the Lancers are 11-11-2 on the season and in sixth place in the OUA standings.
Jenny MacKnight had two goals and an assist in the win, while
Courtney Spoors contributed a goal and two assists. Lancer goaltender
Karlyle Robinson earned her first shut-out of the season making 16 saves in the win.
MacKnight opened the scoring for the Lancers with a power play goal at 10:40 of the opening period.
Kayla Dodson scored her first goal of the season at 12:43 of the period, again on the power play, to give the Lancers a two goal lead heading into the second period.
The Lancers dominated the score board in the second period, scoring three goals in three minutes in the middle frame.
Courtney Spoors put the Lancers up by three at 3:40, and was followed by MacKnight's second goal at 5:06 and a goal by
Ally Strickland at 6:43.
In the third,
Tania Mills scored her first of the year at 11:01 to increase Windsor's lead by six.
Windsor will hit the road for their final two games of the regular season against the Western Mustangs on Friday and the Yorl Lions on Saturday.
