Lancers drop five-set heartbreaker to Queen's

Greg Simone picked up 11 kills in Windsor's five set loss to Queen's on Saturday night in Kingston.
Box Score KINGSTON, Ont.- The Windsor Lancers men's volleyball team dropped a five-set thriller (20-25, 25-16, 25-18, 21-25, 17-15) to the Queen's Gaels on Saturday night to close out the first half of their season.

The Lancers (4-6) were led by Greg Simone, who tallied 11 kills, and veteran Scott Hickman who had a team-high 14.5 points which included seven kills and 7.5 total blocks on the evening.

Greg Burlacu added 11.5 points, including nine kills, and Adam Thompson picked up eight kills and 2.0 blocks in a losing cause for the men, who have dropped two of their last three matches. Shawn Reaume recorded a game-high 28 digs, and Blase Wasser notched 43 set assists, while Tyler Scheerhoorn tallied a game-high 16 points to help the Gaels snap a five-game losing streak.

Windsor will return to conference action on January 11 when they will travel to London, Ont. to face the rival Western Mustangs.
