NORTH BAY, Ont.- The Windsor Lancers women's hockey team used four first period goals to jumpstart them to a big 7-1 victory over the Nipissing Lakers on Sunday afternoon, giving Windsor its second win in a row this weekend.
Five different Lancers found the goal as
Erinn Noseworthy picked up two markers for Windsor (9-7-1), who move two games above the .500 mark and maintain their playoff position coming out of the weekend's games.
Jenny MacKnight grabbed three assists, bringing her weekend point total to seven after the veteran notched two goals and two assists on Saturday against Laurentian. The Regina, Sask. native now leads the OUA with 29 points in 17 games played thus far in 2013-14.

Candace Kourounis, Leslie Stugnell, and
Kayla Dodson rounded out the scoring for the visitors, while Jade Gauthier's ninth of the season broke
Marissa Kozovski's shutout bid at the 14:23 mark of the middle frame. Kozovski stopped 13 of 14 shots, while Windsor took advantage of the home squad on special teams, converting on 3-of-6 power-play opportunities. The Lakers were 0-for-7 with the advantage.
The women continue their road trip for the next three games, playing at UOIT and York next weekend before wrapping it up against the rival Western Mustangs on January 25. They conclude their regular season with four straight home games beginning against Toronto on Jan. 31.
