Box Score 2 The Lancer women's hockey team split a pair of road games this weekend in Toronto. Windsor fell to the Ryerson Rams 3-1 on Saturday before rebounding on Sunday defeating the Toronto Varsity Blues 4-3 in a shootout.

Following the weekend, Windsor is now 7-2-1 on the season and in third place in the OUA standings.

On Saturday against Ryerson, the Rams took a one goal lead with just 45 seconds remaining in the first period, and maintained that lead through a scoreless second period.

Erinn Noseworthy tied the game up early in the third off a pass from
Jenny MacKnight.
Â
The contest remained tied for only a few minutes, as the Rams once again took the lead midway through the final frame.

In an attempt to tie the game, head coach
Jim Hunter pulled goaltender
Marissa Kozovski in favour of the extra attacker. With one second remaining in regulation, Ryerson added an empty net goal to secure the win.

Kozovski made an impressive 33 saves in the game.

Tied 3-3 after overtime on Sunday, rookie forward
Krystin Lawrence was the lone goal scorer in the shoot out to seal the win.

Toronto opened the scoring nine minutes into the game as Kristi Riseley found Sonja Weidenfelder alone at the side of the net for the one-time goal. Toronto's Alessanda Bianchi extended the Blues lead five minutes later as she fired a rebound past Kozovski first period to give Toronto a 2-0 lead after the first.

The Lancers got on the board 5:20 into the second frame as Lawrence sent a shot through traffic to find the back of the net.

Lawrence had a partial breakaway four minutes later but Blues defenceman Caitlin Maikawa made a check to clear the puck out of the way.

Windsor evened the score when third-year forward
Jillian Rops buried a rebound off a
Zoe Ellis point shot with 2:40 to go in the frame. The two teams remained deadlocked at 2-2 heading into the final frame.

MacKnight gave the visiting team a 3-2 lead with a goal 1:22 into the third, but Riseley responded for the Blues, capitalizing on a Lancers turnover and sending a backhand into the net.

Windsor returns to action next weekend when they host the Guelph Gryphons on Friday night and the Brock Badgers on Saturday. Both games are scheduled for 7:30pm at South Windsor Arena and can be seen live at
