Windsor, ON - The Windsor men's basketball team will host the Charleston Southern University Buccaneers on Wednesday as part of their annual NCAA/OUA Tip-Off Classic.
 
The game will be played on Sunday August 7th at 1:00pm at the St. Denis Centre. Tickets for the event will be available at the door for $5.
 
This is the twelfth consecutive year that head coach Chris Oliver has brought in an NCAA team for late-summer action at the University of Windsor.
 
"I am excited and interested to get back on the court. Although this isn't our full team roster I have only coached three of these players previously due to our youth and my sabbatical last season," said Oliver. "I am looking forward to competing against quality NCAA competition while also evaluating what we will need to do to improve as a team through the coming months."
 
In preparation for their five day trip to Canada, the Buccaneers have been practicing since the beginning of July to acclimate seven fresh faces to their roster and playbook. After their contest against the Blue & Gold, CSU will travel north to face Humber College and the University of Toronto Varsity Blues.
 
"We are grateful about the opportunity to measure ourselves against an NCAA Division I team and to be able to once again bring another unique experience to our campus and community," Oliver continued.
 
Windsor will also host Drury University in a pair of pre-season contests. They will tip-off on Saturday August 13th at 4:00pm, and on Wednesday August 17th at 7:30pm at the St. Denis Centre.
