Lancers fall to Bucs in NCAA/OUA Tip-Off Classic

The Lancer men's basketball team opened up the 2016-17 pre-season with an 89-81 loss to the NCAA's Charleston Southern Buccaneers in the twelfth annual NCAA/OUA Tip-off Classic Sunday at the St. Denis Centre.
 
Lancer sophomore guard Isiah Osborne led all scorers with 35 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 steals. Mike Rocca finished the game with the game's only double-double with 20 points, 11 rebounds.
 
For the visiting Bucs, Christian Keeling led the way with 24 points, 5 rebounds, while Javis Howard had 19 points, and a team high 7 rebounds.
 
The Lancers looked rusty shooting the ball in the first half, shooting only 23% from the field compared to Charleston's 56%. The Lancers trailed the Bucs 48-30 at the break.
 
In the second, Windsor came roaring back with improved offensive efficiency as the eventually cut the lead to six midway through the fourth quarter. However, the Bucs were able to hold off the Lancers late and earned the 89-81 victory.
 
Windsor will now host NCAA D2 Drury University on August 13th at 4:00pm and again on August 17th at 7:30pm at the St. Denis Centre.
