LSAC Launches Black History Month Campaign

The Lancer Student-Athlete Committee (LSAC) has launched a month long campaign for Black History Month as part of the #Lancers4AntiRacism initiative.

Throughout the month of February, LSAC is inviting athletes, coaches, and community members to take part in a number of events that will give them the opportunity for learning, reflection and personal growth.

The Lancers are also very excited to collaborate with the University of Windsor Student Alliance (UWSA) and Afrofest. Afrofest is a tradition that is extremely important to the Black community and many UWindsor student-athletes. This collaboration allows the Windsor Lancers the opportunity to not only give Black athletes and Black community members a voice and platform behind our shield and on our social platforms, but also the opportunity for all members of the Lancer Family to engage with Black culture.

Beginning February 15th, we have included their events in the calendar and will be encouraging all to participate. Afrofest and UWSA in turn will be sharing and promoting Lancer events as well.

Further details regarding event dates are reflected in the attached calendar, and daily updates will be available through our social media channels at @WindsorLancers.

The LSAC Black History Month initiative is meant to complement the 21-Day Challenge being presented by the Department of Kinesiology with the overall goal of continual self-reflection, on-going learning about Black history and Black culture.
