Lancer cross country star Madelyn Eybergen captured the women's individual gold medal at the 2024 OUA Cross Country Championships on Saturday in North Bay, ON.
 
The first-year cross country runner, who switched from high jump to distance at the end of the 2023-24 season, was named an OUA all-star and runner of the meet crossing the finish line almost ten seconds ahead of the individual silver medalist.
 
Eybergen finished the race in a time of 28:42.5 to help the Lancer women finish seventh overall in the team standings.
 
On the men's side, Jacob Fitzpatrick was named an OUA second team all-star after finishing ninth overall. The senior Lancer completed the 8km race in a time of 25:12.4 to help the blue and gold finish fifth overall.
