In their final preseason meet of the season, the Windsor Lancers cross country team took a trip to South Bend, Indiana to race in the Notre Dame Invitational. The Lancers showed out against their American competition, with the women winning the Gold Division and the men placing fifth.
WOMEN'S RESULTS
Joelle Olla led the women's team to the top spot in the 5k, with a time of 17:32.6 that placed her sixth.
Samara Quanz also found herself in the top ten, crossing the finish line just two seconds after Olla to take ninth.
Sian Kniaziew (11
th) and
Natalie Fortier (14
th) rounded out spots in the top fifteen.
Ainsley Rocheleau snagged 33
rd place, with
Natalie Adam and
Nicole Seagris earning top-75 spots.
Maren Kasunich and
Cadence Tait finished 100
th and 111
th, respectively.
The Lancer women earned 73 total points in the team standings, and won first place rather comfortably, as they were the only team to score lower than 100. They will look to carry momentum from this impressive showing into the OUA season that resumes next weekend.
The open division saw
Sarah Edwards,
Selena Guarasci, and
Julia Scarrow all compete.
MEN'S RESULTS
The Lancer men collectively earned fifth place in the Gold Division 8k with a 195 score.
Jacob Fitzpatrick continued his strong start to the season with a sixth-place individual finish, crossing the finish line at 24:31.5.
Noah Costa was the eleventh runner to finish, with a time of 24:36.6. Abdullahi Abdullahi (49
th), James Wheeler (59
th), and
Kade Campbell (73
rd) rounded out the Lancers in the top-100.
Jeremy Pinho,
Samuel Rohr, and
Adam Kleinsmith rounded out the Lancer men group in the Gold Division 8k.
Ethan Graves and
Gavin Stafford both ran in the Open Division 8k, finishing with times just over 25 minutes.
