Lancer Football celebrated a historic milestone on Tuesday, April 29, as four of its standout players were selected in the 2025 CFL Draft—marking the largest draft class in program history. Leading the way was linebacker Devin Veresuk, chosen second overall by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, making him the highest-drafted Lancer in program history. Defensive back Istvan Assibo-Dadzie was picked 30th overall by the Toronto Argonauts, who also selected running back Joey Zorn with the 55th pick. Defensive lineman Liam Hoskins rounded out the group, going 43rd overall to the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Veresuk's selection comes after an impressive collegiate career, where he amassed 160 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss, nine sacks, five pass knockdowns, two forced fumbles, and one interception returned for a touchdown. His performance earned him a spot in the CFL Scouting Bureau's top 20 prospects and an invitation to the East-West Bowl. Reflecting on his achievement, Veresuk said, "Being drafted is a dream come true. It's a testament to the hard work and support from my coaches and teammates at the University of Windsor."

Head Coach JP Circelli expressed immense pride in his players' accomplishments. "This draft class is a reflection of the dedication and resilience our student-athletes have shown.

In addition to the four current Lancers drafted, former Windsor defensive lineman Muftah Ageli was selected in the fourth round (33rd overall) by the Ottawa REDBLACKS.
