The University of Windsor Lancers track and field team competed at the Notre Dame Invite meet on Saturday, January 24 in South Bend, Indiana at the University of Notre Dame, with multiple athletes moving into U SPORTS rankings and
Isabella Goveia earning a U SPORTS auto qualifying time in the 800m.
WOMEN'S RESULTS
Jordana Badley-Castello's weight throw performance was the highlight from the field, as she won the event with a distance of 18.98m on her throw.
On the track,
Isabella Goveia set a personal best and auto-qualified for U SPORTS with a 2:06.60 time in the 800m, placing second. The Lancer women showed out in the 1000m, as
Natalie Fortier (2:50.77),
Ella Heredi (2:51.83), and
Joelle Olla (2:52.01) placed third, fourth, and fifth, respectively, and each runner earned a spot in this season's U SPORTS Top 12 rankings and the Lancer all-time top ten records.
Ainsley Rocheleau finished fifth in the 3000m, crossing the finish line in 9:56.19, followed by
Sian Kniaziew in seventh at 10:02.86.
MEN'S RESULTS
Noah Costa and
Abdullahi Abdullahi each moved into the U SPORTS Top 12 with their results in the one mile, with Abdullahi placing sixth (4:07.82) and Costa eighth with a 4:08.85 time. Three Lancers finished in the top ten of the 1000m, with
Kade Campbell (2:26.66) in fourth,
Noah Waldmann (2:26.84) in fifth, and
Wyatt Ribchester (2:28.87) seventh.
Andreas Pardalis finished fourth in the 3000m with a mark of 8:28.48.
