Six first place finishes for Lancers at Bob Parks Memorial meet

The University of Windsor Lancers track and field team made the trip to Ypsilanti, Michigan to compete in the Bob Parks Memorial meet at Eastern Michigan University on Saturday, January 24.

WOMEN'S RESULTS
The Lancers had five podium finishes between the 1000m and 300m races, as Nicole Seagris and Maya Metivier took home golds with times of 3:00.25 40.75s, respectively. Layla Masse earned a second-place finish in the 1000m, just over a second behind Seagris at 3:01.55. Metivier and the Lancers dominated the 300m, with members of the blue and gold taking the top five spots. Nadia Pupatello followed Metivier with a silver finish in 40.87s and Madalynn McGregor grabbed bronze in 41.53s. Cali Marles (41.63) finished fourth and Kelis Daye (41.95) placed fifth.

More Lancer success came in the 3000m as Natalie Adam won the event in 10:23.40, with Sarah Edwards claiming second place in 10:29.66. The 4x400m team of Metivier, Pupatello, Daye, and McGregor won the race in 3:53.54. Ella Koller's time of 8.95s was third-best in the 60m hurdles. Cadence Tait placed fourth in the one mile with a 5:15.92 time, and Lia Acanne earned a sixth-place result with a 7.87s time in the 60m.

Grace Elford won pole vault with a 3.85m jump as she continues to build on her U SPORTS-bound campaign. Abigail Passy followed in third at 3.45m and Mackenna Suzuki (3.45m) in fourth. Callista Daly won bronze in the high jump at 1.65m, and Harley Martin (16.09m) was fourth in weight throw.
 
MEN'S RESULTS
Ryan Holly placed second in the 300m in 35.37s, followed by Will Duncan (35.52) in fourth, Damilare Okeyinka (35.56) in fifth, and Cameron John-Dunslow in eighth. The 3000m saw Adam Kleinsmith (8:41.14) place second, Max Fazecash (8:47.79) in fourth, and Ethan Graves (8:52.01) in fifth. Andrew Taylor, (2:31.12) Malachi Kenny (2:31.39), and Quinten Marsh-Lansard (2:33.01) finished 4-5-6 in the 1000m. Mohamad Alkaaby finished fourth in the 400m with a 51.21 time. Duncan, Alkaaby, John-Dunslow, and Okeyinka placed second in the 4x400m with a 3:24.30 mark.

In the field, AJ Stanat continued his strong season with a throw of 18.12m in shot put to win the event and placed seventh in weight throw at 17.08m. Tristen Miscia placed second in pole vault with a mark of 4.15m and fourth in long jump at 6.77m. The Lancer men had strong results across other events, as Jayce Hill finished fifth in long jump with a leap of 6.62m, Aidan Molenhuis (1.90m) placed third in high jump, Jason Leoni (1.85m) sixth in high jump, and Zach Clarke (17.26m) sixth in weight throw.

The Lancers continue their season at Penn State (Penn State National Open) in State College, Pennsylvania and Youngstown State University (YSU Mid Major Invitational) in Youngstown, Ohio next weekend.
