University of Windsor Lancers women's soccer player Izzy Barrette has been named an OUA Athlete of the Week for her play in the week ending September 6, 2026.

The fourth-year goalkeeper was the backbone of the Lancers first undefeated weekend of the season, backstopping them to a win and a draw with a pair of clean sheets. Barrette made four saves on Friday (Sep. 4) night's 5-0 win against Waterloo, Windsor's first victory of the young season, and saved all three Brock shot on target in Sunday's (Sep. 6) 0-0 draw in St. Catharines, Ont.

Through four regular season games, Barrette now leads the OUA with two shutouts and is just one of two goalkeepers to have played all possible 360 minutes this season.

This stretch marks Barrette's first set of consecutive shutouts since she recorded three in a row from Sep. 27-Oct. 10 in 2025.

Barrette and the Lancers are back in action on Friday (Sep. 11) night, traveling to Toronto, Ont. to face the York Lions at 6 p.m. The game can be streamed live on oua.tv.
