Lancers sneak past Gryphons for 10th win

Box Score GUELPH, Ont.- The Windsor Lancers men's basketball team came out on the winning end of a tightly contested match on Saturday afternoon, notching a slim 83-77 victory over the Guelph Gryphons.

Enrico Diloreto tallied a game-high 20 points while Lien Phillip grabbed 17 points and 10 rebounds for another double-double performance in helping the Lancers to their 10th victory of the year.  Josh Collins added 14 points for Windsor, who shot 45.8% from the field compared to 39.7% from the upstart Gryphons, who drop to 5-8 in the regular season.

The victory guarantees the Lancers will maintain their place at the top of the OUA West division by the end of the weekend's results, as the Lakehead Thunderwolves can only come within one victory of the No. 8 ranked squad in the CIS.

The Lancers will next host the McMaster Marauders this coming Wednesday at the St. Denis Centre in a re-match of this past weeks mid-week contest.  In that game, Windsor erased a 19-point first quarter deficit to earn a win over the Marauders in Hamilton.  McMaster, currently just four points back of the Lancers, will be looking for some revenge against their hosts on Wednesday.  Game-time is set for 8:00 p.m., and the game will be available live online at USTREAM's Lancers TV
